REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN VISA TO ENTER ZAMBIA

OVERVIEW
For US citizens a passport and visa are required to enter Zambia. The passport must be valid for at least six months after the intended date of departure from Zambia. Travelers are encouraged to obtain visas in advance, however a single-entry visa only may be obtained at a staffed port of entry.

TOURIST VISA:

Step 1 - Gather the Following Requirements

 1.1

Current Passport

Applicant must submit their current passport. Zambia visas are stamped into a passport, therefore the the original passport is required.
Note: In order to obtain Zambia visas, passport must have one blank visa page (typically the last few pages of the passport are marked "Amendment" and are not valid for visas) and must be valid for at least six months past the date of entry into Zambia.

 1.2

Photo Requirement

Applicant must submit two (2) identical, color, passport style photographs. The photos must be recent and generally should not be the same used for the passport itself. Passport photos can be obtained at most post offices, Kinko's, Walgreens, etc.

 1.3

Proof of Travel

Applicant must submit a computer-generated itinerary from a travel agency or online booking tool (such as e-confirmation from an airline or Travelocity, Orbitz, etc) showing departure from the U.S. and arrival/departure for Zambia.

Although applicant may be submitting documents along with other family members, when submitted to an embassy or consulate, applications are treated individually. If applicant is under 18 years old, include the following:
1) Color copies of parents valid passports. If either, or both, parents do not have valid passports, include color copies of driver's license or other state issued ID. If either, or both, parents are not US citizens, include copies of ID and copies of US visa or permanent resident card (Green card).
2) Include a letter of authorization for child to obtain visa and travel.

BUSINESS VISA:

Business Cover Letter 

Applicant must submit a Business Cover Letter (BCL) from a U.S. company. The BCL must be an original signed document on company letterhead indicating the date, duration and purpose of travel to Zambia, list a contact and address at the host company, and observe moral and financial responsibility for the applicant. Please review the example below.

Letter of Invitation

Applicant must submit a Letter of Invitation from the inviting party or organization in Zambia. The letter should introduce the applicant, detail the purpose of the trip to Zambia, provide dates of the visit and be signed by a company officer with contact details included.
Scanned/printed copies are generally acceptable.

Visa Application

    The Shipping fees are $25.00 for Overnight Delivery, $35.00 for Saturday Delivery or prepaid airbill. You may deliver the documents in person.

Visa Validity 
Single Entry Tourist Visa - is valid for 3 years for a period of stay not to exceed a total of 90 days.
Double and Multiple Entry Tourist Visas - are valid for 3 years for a period of stay not to exceed a total of 90 days per year.

Single Entry Business Visa - is valid for 3 years for a period of stay not to exceed a total of 30 days.
Double and Multiple Entry Business Visa - are valid for 3 years for a period of stay not to exceed a total of 30 days per year.
